Fine Tubes is distributing donations to chosen charities

Fine Tubes has reported an impressive year of charitable giving in 2018. The UK-based precision tubes manufacturer, part of AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP), raised a grand total of £3,500 for worthy causes. The money was distributed by the Fine Tubes’ Charity Fund Committee, who consider employees’ recommendations for donations. The committee also ensures the relevant and ethical distribution of funds that were raised by the company and its employees and supporters.

Fine Tubes has supported a range of good causes over the past twelve months via its Charity Fund Committee, from hospices to air ambulances; play schemes to veterans’ groups. Alongside financial support, employees donated time, knowledge and money during 2018 as part of the company’s commitment to give back to the local community and charitable projects.

Charitable projects include donations to Children’s Hospice SW and Cornwall Hospice Care to help fund provision of specialist care for patients with terminal illnesses. Other donations were made to CHICKS, an organisation providing respite breaks for children who are carers or disadvantaged in some way. Fine Tubes has also supported Help for Heroes, Cornwall Air Ambulance, the Woodside Animal Welfare trust, Waterside Explorer Scouts, Polish Saturday School, NICU Derriford and the Shekinah Mission – an organisation that works with people in recovery or in need of support for homelessness, mental health or drugs or alcohol dependency.

Claire Baker, HR Business partner at Fine Tubes comments, “We are proud of our colleagues at Fine Tubes to have raised this amount of money for charity in just twelve months. Thanks to everyone’s help, we have been able to support 15 good causes and make a difference to many people who are depending on the charities’ services.  We now look forward to exceeding this amount in 2019 and encourage everyone to come forward and propose specific fundraising ideas or a good cause that could benefit from our help in 2019 to our Charity Fund Committee.”

Fine Tubes is committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility duties and to working with local communities and charitable organisations towards the common good. AMETEK SMP encourages and enables its employees to pursue volunteering and fundraising opportunities, including those linked to the AMETEK Foundation, which funds projects in communities around the world, wherever AMETEK businesses are based.
